My name is David and I've called Florida my home for over 43 years. The area is a great place to live, work and play. But you already know that- It's why you are here!
I have been remodeling homes in North Florida since 2008 and I’ve found it to be a very satisfying and rewarding profession. Simply put, I love doing it. But, around 2020 I began to notice a trend that, quite frankly, made me cringe.
It was at this time my parents were looking to relocate to the area and enjoy their golden years in the Florida sunshine. As I accompanied them on their search I was taken back by the poor quality and shoddy workmanship in a majority of the homes that we visited with our realtor. What I was discovering was that a large chunk of the real estate that is currently on the market were “house flips", meaning that the home was purchased sometime within the last year and now its back on the market but with a hefty price increase and a braggadocious listing on the MLS that was highlighting the “new look" and updated interior. And I constantly found myself telling my family that “You don't want this home."
I came to the conclusion that there are a lot of people buying and flipping homes who knew absolutely nothing about Florida building standards or even basic home safety. They were simply trying to make a quick buck of an unsuspecting buyer. Home Revelations was formed so that individuals, families, and retirees can be well informed when making their next real estate purchase.
